I met Kristin this past year had an excellent experience. My goal was to lose weight and improve my current exercise routine.  I’ve been on plans to eat better and plans to lose weight so many times and I would often feel starved or like I had no energy.  Eventually I’d lose the interest in keeping it up.  I would lose 10-15 lbs and then soon after gain that weight back plus more.

I wanted a nutrition coach who could set me on the right path and be there as I made the changes I knew I wanted.  Kristin was very knowledgeable and taught me a lot. I was delighted to know that she wasn’t going to put me on a 1200 calorie diet or suggest I go to the gym 7 days a week. Her position was always that it had to be realistic and attainable for it to last.

Kristin helped me set up a nutritional plan based on my body, age, current exercise routine and goals.  I began to learn about  macronutrients which in some ways, was similar to the old-school calorie counting. For several months  I  tracked everything I ate and drank.  And, though it took some getting use to, it was not difficult at all. Counting macros, especially the first few weeks was an adjustment. I wasn't used to eating so much food and so much protein!  Getting such a large portion of my calories from protein was new to me -  it  meant more meals that included fish and meat.    

Counting macros showed me what the right balance of food looked like, and it was a great way to shift my eating habits. It gave me wiggle room for eating out with friends or going  for lunch meetings without feeling so restricted. The best thing about this approach was that  I never really felt hungry outside of a normal increase toward the end of the work day when I was finished running around.

Kristin and I would meet  each week and then eventually every other week. Consistently she was there guiding me and cheering me on. She was always available for any questions or support along the way. I enjoyed our weekly meetings where I got to focus on me and my goals. I lost weight , discovered the benefits of higher energy and the importance of protein especially in women as we age. I learned that essential nutrients can make you feel more full and is key for building and maintaining strong  muscles and bones. I now know what food I need to fuel my body properly. 

Kristin is personable and so easy to talk to. I appreciated her undeniable passion for her work and sharing what she knows. She made everything easy to understand. I cannot say enough about how relatable and easy to connect with Kristin is. She’s been a fantastic support and I would recommend her without reservation.

I’m looking forward to enjoying summer this year. I’m no longer dreading wearing a bathing suit and love knowing that I won’t be dragging behind the group on hikes while camping with friends . I love feeling this way & am going to save this post to remind myself how miserable I felt 9 months and 40 pounds ago compared to how I feel now. I’m not done yet, but roughly half way there feels amazing.

You have given me the tools to maintain my momentum and continue to my goals. Having some very practical, common-sense ways to have a healthy lifestyle is so important! As is a community. I found my exercise community every morning, but what I was lacking was a nutrition community. So many fad diets and restrictive ways of eating and they are NOT for me. So, your program is perfect! “My story is similar to everyone out there who is getting older and finding the weight is slowly creeping up.   I tried every diet out there – WW, Jenny, Bernstein – you name it.  Nothing was sustainable and every time I lost weight, I always gained it all back.  The familiar roller coaster that always ended up the same.

“For anyone who is looking to get fit, healthy or lose some weight, I highly recommend Fit Life Coaching and Kristin to be your guide. After some health issues and medications, I had been holding on to an extra 10 pounds for about 10 years that no diet or exercise routine could get rid of.  I tried, Keto, intermittent fasting, vegan, daily cardio, gym membership etc.  Nothing worked. 

I started this journey on the hope of losing 10 pounds by my 51st birthday, a lofty goal in two and a half months.  I never felt hungry or deprived (except the two week challenge of 0 calorie drinks - I missed wine and cheated twice) . Kristin’s comprehensive plan slowly integrates different habits so its easy to master one, then add another.  It was super helpful.  Its my birthday tomorrow and I have lost 9 pounds but what I realized is that the number of the scale isn’t as important as the way you feel about yourself and how you feel in your clothes.  My muffin top is gone, my clothes fit way better, my body is firmer than it has been in years.

“When I started working with Kristin, I was lean (5’6” at 118 lbs.)  I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose, I just wanted to get visible abs.  I let Kristin know that I would follow her 14 day plan* as long as she worked in some of what I already eat; I wasn’t up for losing all my favorite foods, going hungry and/or eating a bunch of unknowns. I provided a glance into a normal day of my meals/snacks, as well as a list of what I wasn’t willing to give up, and she created my plan taking all of that into account.

The meal plan showed me the sneaky calories that I could easily cut and gave me a new appreciation for protein - its easy to get your protein when someone shows you how!  I found the meal plan easy to follow as it kept my healthy ‘go-tos’ and more importantly, it was often too much food for me; needless to say, I was never hungry.  She also encouraged me to do a short daily ab workout so my muscles would be ready to pop once the layer of fat was gone.

While this plan was only intended for 14 days, I have incorporated countless permanent changes into my daily routine because I enjoyed them.  I am no longer in a caloric deficit, or closely monitoring what I eat, but I’m still dropping fat around my mid-section, honestly – without trying!

Thank you, Kristin, for helping me reset my metabolism and drop the frustrating softness covering my abdominal muscles!  My tummy is tighter than before having children.  I had all but given up on my six-pack goal – working with you has been a game changer! “
